When is the best time to apply for my Cameroon visa?

Do I have to send you my passport to get a Cameroon visa? Is it safe to send a passport?
Yes. You will need to send your actual passport, not a copy of it. The Cameroon visa is stamped on your passport and will become one of your passport pages. Visa request cannot be processed without your original passport. Because of the importance of your passport, we strongly suggest that you send your application by a secure method, such as a guaranteed postal service or courier.

  1. Passport

    The applicant's actual passport. The passport must: 

    • Have at least one blank visa page
    • Be valid for six months beyond entry date

  2. Photographs

    Two passport sized colour photographs. The photographs must:

    • Have a white background
    • Be taken within the last six months
    • Be glued on to the visa application form

  3. Business Introduction Letter

    An original letter of introduction from the applicant's UK employer. This letter must:

    • Be addressed to the Embassy
    • Be on company letterhead paper
    • Include the name of the applicant
    • Specify the purpose of journey
    • Include the name of the organisation(s) to be visited
    • Specify the requested number of entries and the length of visa required
    • Include an acceptance of financial responsibility for the applicant
    • Be signed by the applicant's supervisor or the company's HR department

  4. Letter of Invitation

    A letter of invitation from the company the applicant is visiting. A copy is acceptable. This letter must:

    • Be on company letterhead paper
    • Include the name of the applicant
    • State the purpose of journey
    • Specify the requested number of entries and the length of visa required
    • Be stamped by the local Cameroon police

  5. Proof of Travel Arrangements

    Details of travel arrangements. These must be provided as:

    • A copy of the flight confirmation
    • A copy of the hotel confirmation

  6. Proof of Travel Insurance

    Copy of actual travel insurance policy certificate [email not accepted]. The certificate must state:

    • Full name of the applicant
    • That the policy is valid for the duration of the entire trip 

  7. Proof of Purpose

    • If working for an oil company, a copy of the Societe Nationale Hydrocarbon (SNH) must be supplied.

  8. Visa Application Form

    Two fully completed and signed application forms

  9. VisaCentral Order Confirmation

    For orders placed on the VisaCentral website, a copy of the Online Order Confirmation which is sent to you via email, must be submitted.

    For all other orders, and where applicable, a completed Manual Order Form should be submitted.
